The Canning Data Extraction Tool (known as The Canning Tool) is a well-established product with a proven track record of more than ten years. It is a user-friendly, easy-to-install application used for extracting and analysing primary health care data.
The Canning Data Extraction Tool was developed in Australia in 2005 by the Canning Division of General Practice. Divisions of General Practice were transitioned to Medicare Locals in 2011-2012 and the Canning Division transitioned to the Bentley-Armadale Medicare Local. The Canning Tool was originally a fee-for-licence product and was sold to 85 of 110 Divisions of General Practice around Australia.
